About the meme

The pumpkin head trend is a fall photo tradition, also called the Pumpkin Head Photoshoot or Pumpkin Challenge: people pose wearing a hollowed-out pumpkin over their head and cut the shots together, often to Jack Stauber's "Oh Klahoma." It appeared in fall 2020, grew under #pumpkinchallenge in October 2021 and has returned every October since. A 2026 variant, the Pumpkin Head Illusion, has a friend hold a real pumpkin near the lens so it covers someone's head while they dance.
