What does "AI Zombie Trend" mean?
The AI zombie trend is a short AI video about two people: one has turned into a zombie, the other raises a gun but can't shoot, and the zombie hugs them instead before it cuts to a warm memory of the pair. It spread on TikTok and Instagram from late September 2026, and a CapCut tutorial for a "My Beloved Zombie" template posted on October 1 had 2.8 million plays a week later. Most versions star couples; others star pets, parents and best friends.
Evolution Timeline
Instagram creator @asrith_prakash posts 'Wherever You Go', an all-AI short where a man reunites with and embraces his zombified partner; caption credits Higgsfield (Seedance) for visuals. Earliest zombie-embrace AI clip found; no gun in this one.
@heygentlewhale posts a dog-waits-for-owner zombie short and names @asrith_prakash as inspiration — earliest pet variant found.
@damienstraker posts a zombie AI remake and names @techmaf as the original idea, while saying he could not pin down the first creator.
@techmaf posts a tutorial reel thanking followers for turning his video into a trend and explaining how he made it.
@dengljqmy1g (multilingual tutorial account) posts its first English 'zombie AI trend tutorial' clips with CapCut template wording (07:05 PT and 12:48 PT).
@sinifreak posts a couple version with his wife at 15:51 PT, saying he normally doesn't care for AI but joined the trend.
@eleanor.novak73 posts a husband-and-wife AI zombie clip.
Spanish-language CapCut tutorials for 'parejas zombi' appear (e.g. @sawduo2863), using the 'sonido original ♥️Musikbeth♥️' sound.
@cupiidbug posts a non-AI, practical-makeup zombie couple take ('Together in ⚰️') that outperforms most AI versions.

Investigative Findings
Q: The name of the creator of the October 1 "My Beloved Zombie" CapCut tutorial (MakeViral gives a handle, not repeated here) and who made the very first AI zombie hug video.
MakeViral names TikTok @dengljqmy1g. The account exists and did post zombie CapCut tutorials on Oct 1 (07:05 and 12:48 PT), but none of its public clips is titled 'My Beloved Zombie' or shows 2.8M plays (top one 282.4K) — the 2.8M video may be deleted, or the attribution is wrong; treat as 单源/未核实. Earliest AI zombie embrace clip found: Instagram @asrith_prakash, 2026-08-14 ('Wherever You Go', made in Higgsfield, no gun). The gun-standoff variant is credited to @techmaf by other creators.
Q: View counts (2.8 million, 628,000) come from MakeViral's October 8 snapshot, not checked directly on TikTok.
Checked on TikTok Oct 25: @sinifreak clip now 805.6K plays / 46.4K likes (up from ~628.9K). The 2.8M tutorial could not be found on @dengljqmy1g; its biggest zombie tutorial is 282.4K plays. Recommend dropping the 2.8M figure or attributing it to MakeViral only.
Q: The MemeClone.ai item assumes the site lets users pick partner, parent, friend or pet and outputs a 12-second video or image, based on the input's make field and example labels.
The live MemeClone page text states exactly this (two photos; partner/parent/friend/pet; 12-second video or still) and its example players are labeled 'Video, 12 s'. Whether the generator actually outputs 12 s could not be tested without signing in.
