Where did Gangnam Style AI come from?
"Gangnam Style" is PSY's 2012 single. Its official music video, posted July 15, 2012, was the first YouTube video to pass one billion views and now has more than six billion.
On September 30, 2026, X user @rovvmut_ posted an AI clip captioned "This is why RAM is so expensive." It sets the chorus on a quiet city street: one man stands close to the camera, arms crossed and deadpan, while another dances wildly far behind; they swap, then horse-ride side by side. The two were shared as OpenAI's Sam Altman and Anthropic's Dario Amodei, and the post passed 730,000 views and 6,400 likes.
Copies with other pairs followed on X in October (one recast the two in suits on October 8), alongside the earlier AI remakes of APT. and Alors on danse.
Why did Gangnam Style AI take off?
The joke is the contrast: one person stays perfectly cool while the other loses it, and then they trade roles.
Everyone knows the song and the horse-riding move, so the clip lands in the first second.
Any pair fits: friends, coworkers, couples, siblings or rival bosses.
How people play Gangnam Style AI
1. You and your best friend
Put the calmer one in photo 1 so they play it cool first; the wild one dances behind.
2. Coworker rivalry
Cast two teammates who never agree, with their permission, and post it in the work chat.
3. Use people who agreed
The viral version used real public figures. This template is for your own photos or those of adults who agreed, not celebrities.
